386-388 LCK
Fine Art Print of an ink drawing of 386-388 Lai Chi Kok Road.
This pair of 3-storey buildings situated at 386-388 Lai Chi Kok Road in Sham Shui Po, Kowloon is a rare remnant of early ‘tong lau’ built in the 1940s. ‘Tong’ refers to the Tang dynasty and is used as a term to mean Chinese, and ‘lau’ refers to a multi-storey building.
While other buildings around them have been redeveloped, this pair of tong lau has not only survived, but has also retained much of its original features, including the urn at the roof balustrade, decorative column features and the deep verandah at the top floor of one the buildings.
Professional quality Giclée (or pigment) print on 310gsm Hahnemühle German Etching paper.
